“BEING INVOLVED IN ASCLEPIOS WAS MY VERY FIRST STEP INTO THE WORLD OF SPACE EXPLORATION MISSIONS”
During my medical studies and next to the Asclepios Association, I worked part-time as a piano teacher, drawing on my background as a professional pianist – I hold a Master of Arts from the University of Bern. In addition, I regularly played the organ on weekends and worked night shifts at the hospital to gain clinical experience and support my studies. After earning my medical degree, I served as the research medical doctor for the European Space Agency (ESA) at Concordia Station in Antarctica. Today, I work as a medical doctor at the Institute of Space Medicine in Toulouse.

“TAKING PART IN ASCLEPIOS ITSELF WAS A GIANT LEAP. THE SKILLS THAT WE LEARNED AND FURTHER DEVELOPED WERE ESSENTIAL FOR ME IN PARALLEL TO MY PHD IN MATERIALS AND METALLURGY”
I was part of the Asclepios I mission as an analogue astronaut and crew commander. I was in charge of the crew and took part in the mission within the base. I then later help recruit for the Phase A of the Asclepios II crew recruitment process. Since then I have completed my Postdoc in additive manufacturing, created my own organisation on analogue space missions, CHASM, whil working as a Space & Aeronautics Business developer at CSEM.
