Asclepios serves a scientific testbed for projects proposed by our academic and industrial partners. We aim to provide an operationally realistic simulation in which various projects can test their experiments.
Areas of Research
Environment & Physics
Life Sciences & Medicine
Robotics & Lunar Operations
Space Habitat Engineering
Asclepios works with research groups, companies, students, and start-ups that have products or projects to test within our lunar analogue mission. Projects can be tested in several different regimes: our lunar simulation mission, our zero-gravity flights, our extreme environment training, and our Mission Control Centre. Some examples of past projects are:
Rovers and robots controlled by analogue astronauts on EVAs
Novel air filtering technologies
Growing plants in regolith soil within the space habitat
Astronaut sleep tracking
Teleoperating rovers from within the space base
Testing new ultrasound technology for remote applications
Water filtration technologies
Astronomy observation with astronauts on EVA
Asclepios issues a Call for Projects each autumn to gather proposals. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please review the Call for Projects brochure and fill out the application.
APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY CLOSED – FOLLOW OUR SOCIAL MEDIA TO STAY UPDATED!
As an EPFL association, Asclepios offers EPFL students the opportunity to conduct their semester project with our project. Semester projects are conducted in conjunction with an EPFL supervisor and directly benefit our mission. If you are interested, you can download our Semester Projects brochure.
